Who We Are

Progressive Change For America is a National, Non-Partisan, Non-Profit, Educational, Literary, and Charitable organization that exists solely to promote and support Historical and Contemporary Progressive Public Policy, Cultural Arts, and Communication.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to educate the community through our Website, Lectures, Policy Forums, Discussions, Published Materials, Book/Film/Video Events that are developed for the public, as well as Primary and Secondary Educational Institutions.

What Progressive Means

Progressive is a political and social term that refers to ideologies and movements favoring or advocating Progress, Change, Improvement or Reform, as opposed to wishing to maintain things as they are.

Progressivism is a belief in mankinds ability to improve the environment and conditions of life, and believes we have an obligation to intervene in economic and social affairs.

Progressives believe in the WE THE PEOPLE (citizen's) governing America as laid out in the U. S. Constitution and the idea's expressed by our Founding Fathers, as opposed to governance by corporations, sectarian groups, or the powerful and wealthy elites.

The United States of America, founded as the first Liberal State in history, has 233 years of Progressive thought and idea's that have been spoken of, written about, and put into practical use.

Progressives promote what is in the COMMON GOOD, and the Public Interest, not Private Interests.

Board Of Directors

Scott Satalino, Director / Editor
Scott Satalino founded Progressive Change For America in Boca Raton, Florida in January of 2009.  Having lived through the Reagan Revolution, and the 28 years of negative economic change for labor, social injustice, inequality, and a weakened democracy that it brought, Scott truly knew that the enthusiasm and ground breaking support for Barack Obama's election as president may well be the last, best hope for Progressive Change in America.  Having worked full time as a volunteer on Obama's 2008 campaign, Scott saw the signs of the times in the Obama transition team and realized that Progress in America would only be achieved if everyone in this great land became involved in working for that change.  In fact Barack Obama said in Grant Park on November 4th, 2008, "we cannot go back to the way things were."

John Sanders, President
John Sanders is and always has been a Liberal/Progressive man.  John brings to this organization an astute knowledge of the world, the psychology of the mass media, and the marketing forces used by the powerful and wealthy elites.  John's idea's and depth of understanding have been a beacon to this organization, and his insight into Progressive Public Policy is a guiding force that plays out in everything Progressive Change For America works to accomplish.

Thomas A. Dougherty III, Esq., Vice-President
Thomas A. Dougherty III is a practicing attorney in the Great State of Massachusetts.  Mr. Dougherty spends his energy to bring justice to his client's and his community.  After service in the United States Navy, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut, Tom honed his legal skills at the New England School of Law.  Tom is a voracious reader and seeker of knowledge and enlightenment.  He brings to this organization a bright legal mind that gets better each day.  He is a realist with an idealist's view that while we still live in an imperfect Union, we can work to improve our society, our lives, and the lives of our families and community, in so many ways.

As a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA., Scott brings to this organization a studious understanding of the Issues that we face in America today, as well as a keen knowledge of the Mass Media's influence on both government and society.  Scott has worked for the past 17 years as an educator, professional actor and singer, and founded The Actors Theatre Of Minneapolis (2000), and Progressive Change For America (2009).

Scott began seriously working in Progressive Politics as a frequent event host for MoveOn.org (2006) and a volunteer for Rep. Ron Klein's 2006 successful campaign for Congress in the 22nd district of Florida.  In May 2008, he was the founder and group administrator of Delray Beach For Obama, where he worked passionately with Barack Obama's Campaign For America 2008 staff in Delray Beach, FL., and the main office in Chicago, Illinois.  Scott hosted over 20 events and fund-raisers, worked in all areas of the campaign, and wrote over
40 articles on the 2008 election cycle and the media's coverage of it.

In addition to his professional work, Scott was a founding member of WHY Magazine in 1989, served on the advisory board of The Harry Chapin Food Bank Of Southwest Florida (1994-1999), and is the recipient of 2 awards from Boston Partners In Education for his service to that organization (1990-1992).
